LOGIN HELP

Parts of this site are built especially for our members, so we want to ensure that only you are accessing your personal membership information. If you are a member of the State Bar of Montana you can log in by entering your username and password. Usernames and passwords are case sensitive so be sure to use capital letters when needed and be sure your number lock key is turned on.

NOTE: Both annual dues and section membership renewals can be paid online. If you are currently a member of a section you can renew your membership in your Invoices & Payments area once logged in. If you would like to join a section you can click on the Bar Groups tab from the Bar's homepage and click on the section name. Each section has a join form within its individual web page.

Your username is the first and last name you are registered by with the State Bar with no space in between. You must capitalize the letters of your first and last name. Usernames can only be changed by a staff member at the State Bar. Example: JohnDoe  

By default your initial password is the captial letters of your first and last name, the number 20 and your bar number*. Once you log in, you can personalize the password by clicking on the change password link. Example: JD201234 (for JohnDoe)

*All default passwords contain 6 numbers so if you have a 2 or 3 digit bar number you will need to add an extra zero(s). As example, if your bar number was 567 you would add an extra zero after the number 20. (200567)

If you were admitted between May 19, 2009 and October 5, 2009 you will use 21 in front of your bar number.

If you were admitted after October 5, 2009 you will use a 2 in front of your bar number.

If you have forgotten your password, you can have the system look it up by clicking on the "Forgot your Password?" link. Your password will be sent to the email address we have on file for you. If your member record does not include an email address you will need to contact the State Bar at (406) 442-7660. For problems logging in please send a message here or

Common Troubleshooting:

•  Refresh the page (F5 key)
• Clear your cache
• Exit out of website and come back in
• Double-check username and password (see above for format)
• Try a different web browser
• Make sure number lock key is on
